My name is RossLana, and I am a documentary photographer based in Sofia, Bulgaria. My journey into the world of art began early in life, driven by a deep fascination with storytelling and its many forms. Over the years, photography became my language—a way to express, question, and connect.
I studied French Philology at Sofia University, where I also became part of the experimental theatre troupe Alma Alter. This experience deeply influenced my artistic sensitivity and expanded my approach to visual storytelling, especially in the intersection of photography, movement, and performance.
When I began my formal studies in photography, it was a turning point that led me to develop a documentary practice grounded in real-life narratives and human values. My work often reflects on social themes, personal histories, and the subtleties of human connection. I am especially passionate about documentary storytelling, performance, and dance photography, where emotion and rhythm merge with visual meaning.
I believe photography is more than observation—it is a way of experiencing the essential truths of life. Through the lens, we are invited not only to see, but to feel and to share stories that matter.
